Meet Cara Behan

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Santa Barbara, specializing in treating anxiety, depression, addiction, and trauma. My approach is integrative and holistic, combining psychotherapy with yoga, meditation, and mindfulness practices to help clients feel balanced in mind, body, and spirit. I have extensive experience working with children, families, and individuals facing severe mental health challenges, including at CALM Santa Barbara and Cottage Hospital. I am particularly passionate about empowering young women and supporting expecting and postpartum mothers in navigating life transitions. In addition to my therapeutic work, I have taught therapeutic yoga classes for mental health and addiction recovery for over seven years. I offer a safe, supportive and compassionate space for you to explore and uncover what brings unease. We will work together and come up with a plan to help you thrive.

Claudia Mei Hammerschmidt, AMFT #140080

I’m a therapist passionate about helping people navigate loss, whether from a relationship ending, the death of a loved one, or job changes. I use a trauma-informed approach to guide clients through the healing process and support them in finding personal growth through their challenges. I believe therapy is most transformative when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable. It can be tough at first, but through that process, you’ll start to feel deeply seen and understood, in a way that’s rare in everyday life.
